Visa Application for Retirement for Foreigners
The "Far Land" project focuses on providing a comfortable and hassle-free long-term stay experience, free from legal burdens. Therefore, we only accept guests who hold the main visas for long-term stays, which are the visas that grant rights to reside and enjoy benefits according to Thailand's immigration laws.
For foreign nationals who wish to stay in Thailand after retirement, there are 3 main types of visas that meet the criteria for long-term residence and reduce the reporting burden every 90 days:

Special benefits and things to know.
1. Reporting and authorization (reduces travel burden)
Thai immigration law allows foreigners to use a variety of reporting channels to facilitate the process for those who are unable to travel to an immigration office in person:
- Non-Immigrant “O-A” (90 days): You can authorize a program representative to submit the application on your behalf, or choose to report via registered mail or online (subject to Immigration Bureau conditions).
- Non-Immigrant “O-X” and LTR Visa (1 year): As this is a long-term residence visa, reporting is only required once a year. You can authorize the program team to act on your behalf at the Immigration Bureau office.
2. Right to have dependents (spouse and children)
All types of Long Stay and LTR visas grant the right to bring along a spouse and children under 20 years of age (subject to visa conditions) to reside in Thailand, with dependents required to apply for the appropriate dependent visa.
3. Legal limitations and obligations.
Holders of all three visa types are required to strictly comply with the following laws:
- Cannot work in Thailand (except for LTR visas which may receive a Digital Work Permit if other conditions are met, or O-X visas for authorized volunteer work)
- Must have health insurance as per the conditions: Specifically, Non-Immigrant “O-X” visas require a policy covering medical expenses (outpatient and inpatient) up to the specified limit.
- Must maintain sufficient funds in a Thai bank account according to the rules and conditions of each visa type to maintain visa status.
The "Far Land" team is happy to provide legal document guidance and assistance to ensure all guests can reside in Thailand smoothly throughout their stay.
